Description/Blazon
A gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Per fess dancetty of two Or and Azure in chief seven piles Gules and in base a bar-gemel dancetty of two of the first, overall a bayonet palewise Proper. Attached below the shield is a black scroll inscribed "MINISTRARE TUEBIMUR" in gold.

Symbolism
Red, yellow and blue represent the combat arms. The piles and bars suggest the Rocky Mountains and the sunset of the west alluding to the unit's home location in Montana. The bayonet highlights total military readiness.

The insignia was authorized on 2 Dec 1997.
